Our Story

Hi there!

Everyone talks about how birthing a child changes you as a person! You start to view life from a different lens.

Learning to be grateful for all the things in my life, being pushed to be patient and wanting to live a meaningful and impactful life!

The love we have for our kids is equal to none , something so fierce and yet so gentle.  Immigrating to the United States was great, but it made me ponder about challenges my kids might face in this land - about being treated differently for looking different, them embracing their Indian identity, etc, etc!

Growing up bicultural(Indian-American) can oftentimes be hard!

The life experiences they face growing up are crucial to their identity development and can affect them both in positive and negative ways.

That's me and my little kulfi #1!

What can we do?

While we can't micro-manage their life experiences, what we can do is try to raise them to be confident , happy kids who embrace their diversity and cultural roots.

That's why I wanted to write a book that has rhyming text with vibrant illustrations that will introduce my kids to the rich heritage and traditions of India. I wanted to create a book that will captivate a child's attention and spark curiosity about his/her roots.

Because only when you know, you can begin to appreciate it.

This book goes beyond storytelling. It encourages curiosity, empathy, and understanding of diverse cultures so they can develop a stronger sense of self-awareness and be proud of their diversity!

I am sure there are young and new moms battling with these same thoughts everyday, I am excited to share this book with all of you out there.

                                                      - Sri Krishnavi, Mom of two adorable kids (4 and 2 years) who inspire me everyday to be a better version of myself. I am on a mission to break any generational traumas but also pass on the wealth of knowledge my culture holds to my kids and other kids. My goal is to help young children build confidence and their self identity.

My little kulfies love for books!
